I've seen a number of fresh-faced young posters (16,17,18 yo) over on Freshalloy.com's G35 section bragging about how they were about to get a G35. Most of them were getting them from daddy. Bottom line, low interest rates and more teenagers working is putting them in cars way beyond their actual income level or ability to handle.
I shudder to think of freshly licensed teenagers ripping around in a TT or G35. No matter how mature or "skilled" they are, most just don't have the driving experience to handle all the situations that come up everyday. Statistics back that up big time, so it's not just idle speculation. It's why insurance companies charge them more.
